I have a confession

So I have to be honest with you.

I haven’t cooked hardly at all in almost 2 months. True story. The hubby has been cooking.

I’ve also put on a few inches, but my weight has stayed about the same.

But I also have a reasonable explanation for it all. Not so much an excuse, because I’ve had more reason than ever to eat healthy.

We are expecting! The end of the summer is the big day. Oh yea, and I have not 1, but 2 babies in my belly! Yee gads! I’ve been waiting until the end of the first trimester to say anything but I’m almost 12 weeks and can hardly contain my excitement! We go to the Dr again next week and I can’t wait!

So I’ve been a tired, ridiculous mess for the past few weeks. I don’t like most smells so I stay out of the kitchen. My appetite is pretty moody and sometimes, chicken soup is all I really care to eat. So I haven’t had much to blog about or talk about because…well…my life is boring. For good reason. Growing babies is hard work!

As I get closer to the 2nd trimester though I feel like I have a bit more energy. I even stayed up past 8pm last night! Go me! I’m really going to try to get back in the kitchen. For the sake of my husband’s grad school grades, I am planning on resuming my wifely duties of cooking dinner while he studies. We’ll see how long this all lasts though because I have a feeling that I will be able to shade an entire large barn in a few months, I’ll be so huge. But babies have to grow so we’ll all grow together…and love it. Maybe. I’ll keep ya posted 😉

Next trimester we are also going to start shopping! Yikes!

But I’d be lying to you if I told you I wasn’t looking online for ideas already…

Busy September + Open Sky Coupon

Can you tell I haven’t been cooking much lately? We’ve been eating leftovers, quick meals or old favorites like roasted veggies, sweet potatoe chips, or baked okra. Life gets crazy, and we’re trying to work out a lot to look good on wedding day! Super cute right? My cousin is getting married at the Gaither Plantation. I’m excited! I hope the weather is nice so it can all be outside and hopefully it’s a pretty Georgia fall day! Off to pack now! We’re heading out tomorrow afternoon. The hotel says it has free wireless internet so we’ll see how that goes tomorrow night! See y’all from Georgia!

I hope you are all as excited as I am about this! I think it’ll be a great opportunity to make this blog more interactive. It’ll allow you, my dearest readers, to buy some of the products I use and love. Hopefully it will help you create some of my recipes, or follow me along in a workout and share tips and tricks a long the way! My ultimate goal of my blog is to make this an open forum for people to share their stories, motivate each other, and help everyone reach their goals! So without further ado, my store!

I’m starting out with 2 products I’ve used and LOVED. The store will grow as I start to get feedback from everyone and as I keep trying new things that I want to share!

First off, Caftea Campire S’mores Coffee!

I got this from Tina’s Open Sky a few weeks ago. I am a coffee addict. I am also a huge fan of s’mores! I was worried when I ordered it that it would be super sweet and the s’more flavor might overpower my beloved coffee flavor. It is very sublte though. Just enough of both flavors. I was really impressed and really enjoy this flavored coffee!

The next product I got when I traveled home to Pennsylvania in the beginning of July. I was so excited to try it, I even took it out with me since I was planning on getting dinner out that night with friends.

I’ve used it when cooking several times and it’s become a staple in the kitchen! If you like garlic, it’s a must have. It adds so much more flavor. I’ve tried a few similar products and they just don’t come close to the quality of  Garlic Gold.

Open For Business…SOON!

Ok everyone, the time has finally come that I can give you a heads up on something exciting that is coming to the blog!

I will be opening my own Open Sky Shop on August 10th!!

I’m very excited for this opportunity and I hope you are all excited about it too!

What this means is I will have a shop on my blog that you can buy some of the products I use and LOVE. It is MY store, so all of the products I use, know and feel comfortable giving a recommendation to all of you. There won’t be anything on the shop that I don’t think you should use or I don’t like.

The goal of Open Sky is to make buying and selling products a more personal experience. If you’ve ever made a purchase with Open Sky you know what I mean. You get friendly e-mails when you make a purchase, updating you on the status of your order, and they make sure you know that if you are not completely satisfied with your product you can send it back, as well as provide feedback to the supplier so the product can hopefully be improved. Oh the Drama

So I had full intentions of blogging last night. We walked the dog, did some wedding things, made a quick dinner, and it was already 8pm and I was absolutely DYING to see what happened on the Bachelorette. Yea. My life is pretty exciting like that. And we have DVR so I never ever watch a tv show when it’s actually on. The Bachelorette is the one show that I must watch the same night, but I always start it late so I can watch a 2 hour show in under an hour and save my life from the all the fill-in “My heart is breaking”, “I’ve given up everything to find love”, “I have such a connection with this guy” nonsense.

Anywho…dinner was Avacado, tomato and sprout sandwich on some french bread that we need to eat up before it goes bad. And there is no room in our 2 freezers because of lasagna madness.

With some grilled zucchini on the side. Yum!

And then we played with another new toy. Actually this one was my request. While fiance wanted a food processor, I wanted…

A popcorn maker. My life is simple. All I desire are the simple things in life. Popcorn was my snack of choice when I did weight watchers. You can have a ridiculous amount of it for 1-2 points, it fills you up, and keeps me away from worse snacks and other bad popcorn covered in butter. I usually just spray on a little smart balance and I’m good to go. Or some garlic salt on it does the trick 😉

Now I’m ready to watch the bachelorette! 🙂
